            AUTO MINISTRY INC. FAQ’S

    1.    How is the money I donate spent?

Answer: All undesignated funds are used directly to purchase vehicles, parts, and repairs for our vehicles.

    2.    Who funds the administrative costs?

Answer: The Founders donate their time and money for this purpose. We admire the Gideons’ example of using 100% of the funds donated to their organization to purchase Bibles and seek to emulate their example.

    3.   What are temporary vehicle benefits?

Answer:  If you have a need to only borrow a vehicle, you need to fill out this application along with a Driver Record Check plus include a photo/scan of your drivers license. Remember, you must have a valid permanent U.S. drivers license and be 25 years of age to borrow a car from Auto Ministry Inc. due to insurance restrictions. (See the HOW page for other restrictions.)

    4.   What happened to the Permanent Benefits Application and those requests?

Answer: Due to the direction of the vision of our new President, we will be concentrating on the needs of missionaries primarily.

    5. What is the best way to donate?

Answer: The preferred method is mailing a check to our snail mail address. We have a PayPal account, however they take around 3% to handle those funds. We are currently investigating other credit/debit options and will entertain any suggestions you may have to make the process more cost efficient for all. While we accept donations, we do not solicit donations.

    6. How else can I help this ministry?

Answer: We would like you to inform the leadership and people of your church, here in the USA, the value of this type of ministry and how it would benefit all missionaries, in your church, if they would supply vehicles either with or without housing. We understand that not all churches desire to do this type of ministry. We also realize that they may not understand how this type of ministry benefits and blesses missionaries. Many may not have any idea how to begin and sustain this type of ministry. We at AMI will be happy to help by answering any questions and make suggestions that have made this ministry work since 2014. Please contact us by any method on the Contact Us page of this website for help.

     7. Where does Auto Ministry rank in my list of those to ask for help?

Answer: We want to follow GOD's design and not be out of our proper place of order. GOD is the source of all resources available. Your family is your first resource. They are the first ones you ask. Many families are unable to help. Some are able, but unwilling. Please check to make sure you are in "right standing" with your family. Your church should be your next resource to ask. Many have benevolence programs available. Ask your pastor or the person responsible for benevolence to guide you in their process. Be careful to not let pride interfere with this process. Next come organizations like Auto Ministry. We and other organizations step in and help when the others are unable.  We are happy to help when GOD provides the resources and direction.

8. You mentioned providing benefits to Southern Baptist. Do I have to be a Southern Baptist to qualify?

Answer: No. Because we are Southern Baptist, most of our contacts are in or closely associated with the SBC, but that is not a requirement.

9. How do I handle repairs of an AMI vehicle I have borrowed?

Answer: Please contact us by any method listed and we will coordinate repairs. Except for minor cosmetic repairs, please wait for approval for any repairs.

10. Where are vehicles located and where are they to be picked up and returned?

Answer: All vehicles are located in Memphis, TN.  If you borrow a vehicle, it must be picked up and returned to Memphis, TN.

11. Where may I take AMI’s vehicles?

Answer: You are permitted to go anywhere in the lower 48 contiguous United States.

12. Why must I have a PERMANENT drivers license issued in the USA?

Answer: While it may be perfectly legal to drive with any of those licenses, our insurance company has placed restrictions on our drivers to have a permanent license issued in the USA and we must abide by all laws, rules, and regulations.

13. What happens if I need to extend due to circumstances beyond my control?

Answer: If no one is scheduled behind you, just ask and you can be extended. If there is, I will attempt to accommodate all parties. If there are no options, I ask all to honor their requested dates. I will keep everyone informed as to not be surprised.

14. How are tolls paid on roads that have no toll booths?

Answer: Eventually AMI will get a bill and we pay the toll, sometimes, long after you return to the field. The problem is that some agencies add a violation to the toll. For example in Chicago one can go through 5 tolls in 15 minutes at a cost of $150.00 plus the toll amount. If you catch it and pay within 7 days the amount is just the toll and no violations. We ask that you go to the toll company’s website and pay the toll as soon as possible. Any delay could be expensive. If you are unsure how to proceed, please contact us for guidance.
